Sports Medicine Lameness Examinations
Sports Medicine neuro-musculoskeletal examinations are a key step toward lameness diagnosis. Initial consultations are 1 hour in length and if indicated, include chiropractic manipulations , laser therapy, and acupuncture.
Sports Medicine Therapy
Uses techniques such as extracorporeal shockwave, laser, E-stim, therapeutic ultrasound, regenerative medicine with stem cell therapy, and intra-articular injections to facilitate healing.
Orthopedic Surgery
Although Dr. Lane's specialty is in Sports Medicine, he also routinely performs a number of orthopedic surgeries including cruciate ligament repair (Ex-cap, TTA, TPLO), fracture repair, arthrodesis etc.
Chiropractic Techniques
Manual therapy techniques such as chiropractic style manipulations, physiotherapy style mobilizations, and massage, are used to improve comfort and resolve lameness.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins to relax muscle and reduce pain. It can be applied to acupoints, or as IMS directly into myofascial trigger points.
Regenerative Medicine
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can be used to treat arthritis, or be combined with stem cells to repair torn tendons and ligaments.
Rehabilitation Therapy
Improves the recovery from surgery or trauma, prevents injury, and improves quality of life for geriatrics.
PennHIP Radiographs
The PennHIP system for Hip Dysplasia diagnosis is superior to the traditional OFA method, which often fails to detect Hip Dysplasia. We routinely perform screening radiographs for kennel clubs and sporting groups.
